The Liquid collection is a harmonious fusion of artistry and innovation that transcends the boundaries of conventional lighting. Each lamp comes alive with a luminous grace that captivates your senses. As you walk around the lamps, the liquid light dances and transforms, creating a visual symphony that adapts with you and your space. The lamps are carefully shaped by hand, adding an artisanal touch that introduces subtle irregularities to an otherwise perfect material. These irregularities make light reflect differently with each lamp resulting in unique pieces of art.

The ‘Ad-i-tive’ candleholders exemplify a harmony between technology and traditional craftsmanship. By integrating 3D printing with hand-sculpting, these candleholders offer a fusion of precision and artistry. Made from high-performance PLA. This advanced material allows for the printed components to be skillfully hand-finished with polymer clay and subsequently baked in an oven, resulting in a unique and functional piece that stands out in any setting.

An unique collection inspired by nature.
As kids, my brother and I always collected stones when hiking in the mountains in my grandparent’s hometown in Austria. It was always a competition who could find the biggest and coolest looking ones and take them home as a memory.
Nowadays, I question whether it is okay to take these stones from nature. Because for me, it doesn't feel right. Therefore I decided to use modern techniques to recreate the stones, instead of taking them from nature.
The stones are 3D-scanned and sculpted into functional pieces of art. By giving them a function, they obtain a tangible value instead of only the memory of that place and time, which has merely value to me.
The stones are 3D-printed from sand. I see sand as the offcut from nature’s sculpting and I bring it back into a shape where it could come from. The stones are preserved in a digital database and 3D-printed in a limited edition collection.
~The objects almost feel otherworldly. It is a memory from another place and time.~

Sjang Niederwieser has produced a lighting series to highlight an interplay of new and old techniques. Created with 3D-printed shapes and copper wire that also acts as a conductor of electricity, the design sees knitted cylinders of pure silk float in an PurpleHeart frame by the use of tension. Single LEDs are soldered one by one to the copper wire, becoming part of the object and making the lamp itself an electric circuit. The process of making is conducted completely in-house with no external manufacturers involved – the Volare S3 PurpleHeart is made using 3D printers and hand knitting machines, with the rest carefully assembled by hand.

Combining old and new, craftsmanship 2.0. Designing by combining different materials and techniques. A combination of knitting, 3d printing, woodcrafting and electrotechnic, and the use of the elastic quality of the yarn to shape the forms. As independent designers we need to embrace technology. With the use of a 3d printer, objects and special parts can be produced fairly fast and inhouse. It is like running a small production factory in my own design studio.
The use of good quality materials and with the finesse of the human hand, I produced objects with the care and attention they deserve. In this way, the objects have a ‘soul’, instead of being produced exactly the same over and over again. This resulted in a high-end collection of lightobjects which is the starting point of endless shapes and variations yet to come, a growing collection.

MaasGlaas is a growing collection of glassware. Maastricht in all its splendor is the source of inspiration for MaasGlaas. This carafe is the first in a series inspired by the meandering course of the Maas river right through Maastricht (from south to north). This stubborn carafe - or eigewies krefke - has therefore, in a certain sense, determined its own shape.

PixelXL is a mirror installation that invites people to take a selfie/photo. The installation plays with layering, colour, light and the environment. The pixels are enlarged, filtered, and extruded, creating a fragmented and pimped self-image that is #instagrammable, filter 2.0. The installation is a reflection of how people profile themselves on social media. What do you show of yourself? What is real and what is not real? PixelXL provides an image of yourself with and without a filter, who you are, and how you want the environment to see you.
